Built on the site of a Kan'in-no-miya imperial family villa, Gora Kadan remains Hakone's benchmark for quiet luxury. Every suite has its own hinoki or stone bath drawing Gora's sulphate spring, which means travelers with tattoos can bathe privately without restriction. Dinner is a multi-course kaiseki plated like an art exhibition. We visited in autumn 2025; staff speak fluent English and arrange private cars from Odawara.
